Today, I’m going to show you how to get a cheap Linux VPS server. This server can be used for testing, learning, or even hosting your own website and applications later on if you’d like!
First, go to NodeSpace Hosting and go to VPS Hosting.
Select one of the VPS plans.
Now customize your server by choosing a hostname (it should be a FQDN format), selecting your OS, and clicking order. You can order server management if you’d like, but you’re going to be a Linux administrator so you can manage your own server!
As a sponsor of this blog, NodeSpace Hosting has provided the promo code LINUXWORKBENCH
to use at checkout and you’ll receive 15% off on your first order. It’s also a recurring discount which means you keep the discount while the service is active.
Once your order is paid and approved (which is fairly quick!), you’ll receive your VPS login credentials and you’ll be able to access your VPS. There’s a handy VPS control panel that lets you control all aspects of your server:
Now you can follow along with most of our guides and tutorials! And if you want to start over from scratch (or try a different distro), you can click the Reinstall option and select a different OS. And if you’d like to run a custom OS from ISO, just provide a link to the ISO to support and they’ll add it to the VPS for you to install using the VNC console.
Enjoy!
